Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch…four words that are sure to make almost anyone’s taste buds start to tingle. The flavor combination of peanut butter and chocolate is one of my favorites, so I was very excited to try this bar, and it did not disappoint!

I am very pleased with the natural ingredients in the Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch Krave bar. I was slightly disappointed that this bar has 1.5g of saturated fat in it, but it’s not a deal breaker in my book.

(Texture)

You can tell by the texture of this bar that it was made recently, and is indeed fresh as the package indicates. The texture is dense, soft, and chewy. For those of you who have tried both Quest bars and Gourmet Cheesecake Protein Bars, the texture is like a combination of these two bars. Not as chewy as Quest bars, but not as light and fluffy as the Cheesecake bars. There are tiny bits of peanuts and chocolate chips in it, but I wouldn’t say you’re guaranteed a peanut bit or chocolate chip in each bite, so there really isn’t a whole lot of chocolate or crunch going on in this bar. If you’re looking to satisfy a chocolate or crunch craving, this probably isn’t your bar, but despite those minor shortcomings, the Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch Krave bar still provides its consumer with a texture that will have you “kraving” another bite!

In my last review of the Birthday Cake flavored Krave Bar, I mentioned that the Birthday Cake bar had an oily surface. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch Krave bar has much less of the oily coating which was nice.

(Taste)

I would describe the taste and flavors of the Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch Krave bar as mellow; the flavors were not overpowering or too sweet. I was actually thinking it’d have a stronger peanut buttery taste, but overall it did a wonderful job at satisfying my peanut butter craving. I’d like to see more chocolate chips in the bar, but I understand that that would increase the calorie content—beggars can’t be choosers I guess! :)

Unlike the Birthday Cake Krave bar, the Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch bar has 1.5g of saturated fat which I was a little disappointed by, and the calorie and fat content of the Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch Krave bar is a little high for my liking, but these are things I’m willing to overlook due to all of the other redeeming qualities that this bar has to offer! The only other downsides to this protein bar are that they are quite expensive and only available to purchase online. They clock in at $3.99 for one bar or $29.99 for twelve bars, plus shipping and handling.

BROILED

Baking and broiling the Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch Krave bar was a real treat! I definitely prefer the baked and broiled version over the plain version. I baked the bar for 3min at 350° and then broiled it for the remaining 2 minutes, 1 minute on each side. Broiling and baking the Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch Krave bar gave the bar a warm, chewier consistency that I thoroughly enjoyed, and it melted the (very few) chocolate chips making them gooey. The peanut butter flavor was also brought out a bit more which was great, and overall it was delicious! Although the bar tastes great plain, I would highly recommend trying it baked/broiled as well!

OVERALL

The Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch Krave bar satisfied my peanut butter craving and kept me full for a good 2.5-3 hours. Although I was expecting a more prominent peanut buttery taste and more chocolate and crunch as the title indicates, it was still an extremely satisfying protein bar that I didn’t feel guilty about eating! If you’re looking for a delicious, natural, protein packed snack, then I’d say these are definitely worth the investment! Your taste buds and stomach will thank you!!
