Goodbye 2014, Hello 2015
Happy New Year, everyone!!
It has been a long time since my last post, and I have a lot to fill you all in on!
First off, I am officially a college graduate! I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Superior with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communicating Arts, and I minored in Behavior & Psychology. The fact that I've graduated doesn't quite seem real yet, but I'm sure as time goes on it will start to sink in! I am looking forward to spending my free time on my hobbies and interests instead of homework and studying for a change!
Although I have graduated, my current plan for the future is to continue nannying for my cousins until this summer (unless their plans change), possibly do some traveling abroad after that, and then come back to Colorado to settle down and look for a job. I am still unsure of what kind of career path I want to pursue, but I'm not going to worry too much about that yet.
I went back to Minnesota for two weeks (December 20th to January 3rd) to spend Christmas with my family. We had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year together, and it was so great seeing extended family and friends while I was home as well! While back in Minnesota I got a haircut, found a new pair of glasses, did some shopping and had a painting day with my mom, saw a movie with my parents and brother, went to Bentleyville, delivered the message at church one Sunday (I can share this with you if you'd like), and more! Overall, it was an enjoyable, relaxing trip back home. It's nice to be back in Colorado, but I am already missing my parents, family, and friends back in Minnesota! I love you all very much!
I am now back to my usual routine out here in Colorado. My time with Torsten definitely keeps me on my toes as he seems to be getting into everything these days. We are able to do a lot more stuff now that he is walking, so we attend a music class, go to story time at the library, visit the children's museum, play at the park, and more! As far as my free time goes, I am hoping to use the extra time to expand my social life and also engage in some of the hobbies I have put off because of school. As I said before, the whole "no more homework" concept still feels foreign to me, but I have no doubt in my mind that I will find ways to fill my time - I just have to figure out where to start! I would love to do more craft stuff (knitting/crocheting/cross-stitch/painting/scrapbooking), possibly write/illustrate another children's book, do more photography, music, reading, cooking, baking, and blogging, see my friends more, do more social activities, get involved with sports, be more involved with church, and of course, figure out what to do with my future!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years! Let's make 2015 great. :)
♥ Jane
