March Maddness
My oh my, how times does fly.
I promise I have not forgotten about all you faithful blog readers out there! The past couple weeks have kept me busy, busy, busy. Did I mention I've been busy? Quite a bit has happened, and I will try and fill you in on everything that I can remember. :)
We're going alllll the way back to Monday, March 3rd. Monday night I got to go to the Timberwolves vs. Nuggets game with Jake, Shay, and a few of Jake's friends. It was my first ever pro basketball game, and I had a blast! It wasn't a very close game until the end, but the Timberwolves held their lead and won. I'm hoping I'll be able to make it to some more games in the future. I also really, really want to see an Av's game before the hockey season ends!
On Wednesday (5th) night, I got to hang out with Zach again. I went to his place in Loveland, CO and we (by "we" I mean "he") made a delicious chicken mushroom garlic linguine dish for dinner which was delicious; definitely some of the best chicken I've had in a while. The rest of the night was spent watching movies and documentaries on Netflix. I had an awesome time, and it was nice to have a mid-week getaway from my usual routine.
Friday (7th) night was spent with Zach again. For dinner he made pasta with shrimp kabobs which turned out amazing; definitely some of the best shrimp I've had in a while (I see a trend here). After dinner we watched some movies and documentaries and drank hot cocoa with Bailey's and mini mini marshmallows. It was the first time I've tried Bailey's in hot cocoa, and I must say it was pretty tasty! The mini mini marshmallows sweetly complimented the beverage as well.
Saturday (8th) night our house got a bit more crowded when my uncle Eric, aunt Lynn, cousin Erica, and her three kids arrived after driving all day from Minnesota! They got in late, late Saturday night (technically 1:00am or so on Sunday) after I had already gone to bed, so when I woke up on Sunday (9th) they were all here. I said hi to everyone before rushing off to my morning bible study. After bible study I came home and went for a run outside which was great, but slightly torturous. I set a PR for my 5 mile time which was awesome, but it was also hot outside (around 70°, yay!) which I'm not used to. Also, thanks to the strength of the sun, I got a nice base tan within that one hour of running outside. I can't wait to have some more 70° days!
Monday and Tuesday (10th-11th) I hung out with Zach again. I'll try and give you a quick rundown on some of the stuff we did....I got to have my first iHOP experience, which I wasn't overly impressed with. But hey, if pancakes are involved, I'll eat them. After iHOP we went to the golf course and hit a bucket of balls from the mats. I guess a more accurate description would be "I attempted to make contact with a golf ball while Zach got some decent swings in". For dinner we had burgers on the grill and homemade fries; *I bet anyone can guess what I'm about to say now...* definitely the best burger I've had in a while. We went out to eat one night at a fancier restaurant (a spur of the moment type thing since our first restaurant choice fell through), and I got rosemary chicken with cheesy risotto which was yummy. Other than that, we devoted some time to homework, watched some more movies, and just hung out. Overall it was an enjoyable couple days. :)
Today is now Thursday (13th). We had a yummy pancake breakfast this morning and then I spent some time coloring with Lucy (age 5) in my room. We drew/colored lots of pretty princesses, castles, unicorns, and self-portraits. Everyone left for the condo around noon and I stayed home to hold down the fort with Sammy (the cat). I plan on using this time to do homework, catch up on my "to-do" list, and lay low.
Oofta! I think that just about covers it...as I said, I have been very busy! I hope you all weren't too terribly bored reading about my adventures. I'll try and do some extra crazy stuff so I can make an even more exciting blog post for next time. ;)
I hope everyone is doing wonderfully and getting extra excited for spring!
